Catching & Hitting Coach

We are proud to announce Ivan Gonzalez, Catcher for the White Sox Organization, will be a catching and batting coach at Action’s Winter Camp!  Gonzalez played with Action Baseball Club from 2011 to 2013.  Gonzalez attended Stony Point High School where he played for their baseball team all four years.  At Stony Point Gonzalez was named to the All-District 16-5A First Team in 2014 and All-District 16-5A Second Team in 2013.  He was also named the District 16-5A Freshman of the Year and All-District First Team in 2012.

From there, Gonzalez went on to play at West Virginia University as catcher and 3rd baseman.  Gonzalez is currently ranked number 10 in WVU history with 780 career putouts.  He is also tied for number 6 with 11 career sacrifice flies.  As a Freshman, Gonzalez earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades and was named to the Baseball American Freshman All-American team.  As a Sophomore in 2017, Gonzalez was named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List, recognizing the nation’s best catcher.  As a Junior in 2018, Gonzalez earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.

In 2019 Gonzalez was drafted in the 8th round to the Chicago White Sox.  Gonzalez is still playing for the White Sox Organization.
