Action Summer Program
As we all navigate this new normal, our thoughts are with all of you and your families.
With all of the uncertainty, we are sure you have many questions.
While situations are changing daily, we can tell you that we most definitely plan on having a summer season. We have been in constant contact with 5Tool, PG, Bullpen, and the other tournament groups. While there are a lot of things to be considered, they are also working to ensure that the players will have the best quality of season.
This summer, depending on the length of this unprecedented event, will most likely look different from seasons in the past. Obviously, the preliminary schedules will need to be adjusted as we look at the season possibly being set back to a later start date, college season status and availability of college fields for our summer, college recruiting and scout availability, families being financially set back and travel expense burdens. Those of course are only a few of the topics we are looking at in the next few weeks. For now, please do not make airline reservations!
The one topic that Action and the tournament groups and scouts all agree on is that the players will need game time more than anything. Our goal is to come up with a scenario that will be the most impactful for our players.
As soon as this situation permits and it is safe to begin training, we will begin working out with our players. During this shutdown I am working along with Tracey, Brian, Sean and Dustin to get our 180 Performance Center operational and ready to open. We hope to have our pitching and hitting tunnels completed in the next two weeks, and the outdoor cages ready shortly after.
As information is available for the season we will communicate updates with all of you. As things are changing daily, please give us time to get you the best information possible.
In the past we have scheduled a organizational meeting to meet with all of you on the season. This year, as things become more concrete we will be sending out an email with details. We feel that this will get the information to you in the fastest and concise way possible and get us moving towards training quicker.
Finally, during these stressful times remember that our love of baseball unites all of us. Stay strong in your faith, and reflect in these quiet times on the many memories you have made in this wonderful game with family, teammates, coaches and friends. This will pass, and we will all get back to making more dreams on the field.
Stay active and strong,
Director, Action Baseball Club.
